SUMMER CAMP 2008

Grades 1 - 8 Camp | High School/Tournament Player

GRADES 1 - 8 CAMP


 

Important Facts:

  • Emphasis will be placed on developing good stroking mechanics and on skill building drills and fun games.
  • Consider having your child register for the camp with a friend--children tend to feel more comfortable, have more fun and learn more when they are playing with friends. If your child wants to be on the same court with his/her friends, please remember to fill out the portion of the registration form that asks about specific grouping arrangements.
  • Maximum student to teacher ratio: 6:1.
  • Sessions run Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Please read the "coaches" section to learn more about our talented staff
  • All sessions may utilize both the Sacred Heart Schools tennis complex (Valparaiso and Emilie) and the “Morey” tennis courts (Valparaiso and Elena).
  • Drop-off/Pick-up/Parking: Sacred Heart Schools tennis complex parking lot (Valparaiso and Emilie).
  • Daily snack/juice break is provided.

Sessions #1-#10: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday through Friday


Session #1: June 9-13
Session #2: June 16-20
Session #3: June 23-27
Session #4: June 30-July 3 (no camp July 4)
Session #5: July 7-11
Session #6: July 14-18
Session #7: July 21-25
Session #8: July 28-August 1
Session #9: August 4-8
Session #10: August 11-15

A typical day at tennis camp

8:45 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. -- Check in
9:00 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. -- Warm up games/drills
9:15 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. -- Stroking fundamentals (we emphasize a different stroke each day of the week)
9:45 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. -- Skill building drills
10:30 a.m. - 10:50 a.m. -- Juice/snack break
10:50 a.m. - 11:50 a.m. -- Skill building games and live play
11:50 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. -- Clean courts and gather personal items

Tuition/session: $325 with the exception of Session #4 which is $260 (also a 10% discount will be offered to those students who sign-up for more than one session or for siblings who attend the same session).

Important Reminders for 2008 Campers

  • Bring tennis racket, water bottle, wear non-marking shoes, and sunscreen as needed.
  • Remember to read the information regarding your particular session carefully.



HIGH SCHOOL/TOURNAMENT PLAYER CAMP


 

Important Facts:

  • Emphasis will be placed on developing good stroking fundamentals and on skill building competitive drills/games. Opportunities for match play will be provided at this camp.
  • Some students enjoy the camp experience more if they are cultivating their skills and learning the game amongst friends. If this is true for you, consider registering for a specific camp with friends of similar skill level. If you want to be on the same court as your friends, please remember to fill out the portion of the registration form that asks about specific grouping arrangements.
  • Maximum student to teacher ratio: 6:1.
  • All sessions run Monday through Friday from 2:15 p.m to 5:15 p.m.
  • Please read the “coaches” section to learn more about our talented staff

Please send the following information and all checks to Jeff Arons at the following address: 115 Willowbrook Drive, Portola Valley, CA 94028. All checks should be made payable to "Jeff Arons". Spots will be allocated in the order the checks are received. Please print clearly the information requested below. A full payment must accompany the application or it will not be processed. Once your child is properly enrolled, you will receive a confirmation via email. Thank you.

Cancellations: If you have to cancel and do so in writing by May 15 (please send to the above address or email me at jeffarons@mindspring.com), a full camp credit valid for any of the appropriate camps that are not filled to capacity will be issued for the 2008 summer session. The camp credit is transferable to a family member only. No cash refunds. Thank you.

WAIVER OF LIABILITY: Student/Parent understands and accepts that he/she or their child who is named above is taking tennis lessons at his/her own risk. Student/parent hereby expressly waives any claim of liability against Jeff Arons, Jeff Arons Tennis, their agents and contractors for any negligence, personal injury, premises liability or other damages which occur to student during the above described tennis lessons. This waiver is a complete release of any responsibility for injuries or damages sustained whether or not the student was engaged in playing tennis at the time of the injury.


Directions

To the Sacred Heart Schools tennis complex (Valparaiso and Emilie Avenue): Take Valparaiso and turn north on Emilie (right if you're coming from El Camino, left if you're coming from Alameda de las Pulgas). Turn left into second entrance (roughly 50 yards along Emilie).
